| Since 2012, the Lambda Nu Sigma Chapter has held a Young Womyn's EmpoRHOment Conference in Toronto. We would like to thank our partners in this event - the West Scarborough Boys and Girls Club! The purpose of this annual conference is to bring together young womyn from marginalized communities and provide them with information on post-secondary education, making healthy lifestyle choices and leadership development. This initiative targets girls between 9 to 18 years of age and encourages them to try new activities, develop skills and discuss topics in a safe place. Through this event, girls enhance their self-esteem, learn to live safely in their communities, make new friends and learn to understand and challenge the world around them.
